What you will do
Johnson Controls' Wichita operation designs, builds and distributes around one million pieces of residential heating and cooling equipment every year. Johnson Controls Wichita builds and assembles some of the biggest HVAC brands in the industry, including York, Luxaire, Coleman, Champion and Guardian.
The primary manufacturing campus sits on 63 acres with a total of 1.3 million square feet. It has also translated into large employment growth in Wichita, where its workforce is around 1,600 employees which is up nearly 22 percent year over year. The Wichita manufacturing facility is the largest non-aircraft manufacturing plant in Wichita.
The Maintenance/Facilities Engineer will act as a liaison between the JCI Maintenance Team and 3rd party CBRE departments towards any and all Facilities Maintenance activities. The person in this role will serve as support to the JCI Wichita Site for all Facilities-maintenance related issues
How you will do it
-Act as a liaison between JCI Wichita Site/Maintenance Department and CBRE and with oversight of execution of all facilities related projects and initiatives.
-Schedule and lead Pre/Post Facilities PM meeting.
-Update work order status on a regular basis.
-Print, distribute, close and facilities work order requests with CBRE.
-Communicate safety issues directly to Management.
-Plan, implement and deliver tasks for facilities department.
-Day to day facilities interaction (Following up with machine concerns and work order system).
-Coordinate and schedule vendors/contractors for facilities projects.
-Support day to day production requirements to maintain facilities machinery running in order to support production.
-Participate in problem solving groups and lean activities.
-Analyze, plan, direct, and perform/facilitate complex work to install, maintain, repair, modify facilities machines and equipment.
-Attend and participate in job related meetings.
-Follow all safety and environmental procedures and policies.
-Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.
-Manage CBRE's/Facilities budget.
What we look for
Required
-Strong leadership and communication skills.
-5-7 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of industrial facilities.
-Knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, equipment, material and safety procedures used in the repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and instrument equipment used in manufacturing and distribution facilities
-Preventive maintenance principles and practices
-Skilled in reading and interpreting plans, specifications, drawing, piping and instrumentation
-Inspecting work locations and equipment to determine work to be performed
-Coordinating the activities of a variety of trades to meet the needs of preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance
-Following-up on scheduled activities to monitor, document, and analyze results
-Assisting in helping to implement a comprehensive preventive facilities maintenance program
-Basic to proficient computer skills, preferably in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
-Good organizational skills.
-Requires diversified and skilled work using a high degree of independent initiative and good judgment.
-Able to communicate effectively with all employees and managers.
-Plan ahead of time and meet deadlines as required.
