Furniture Assembler (Manufacturing)
Assemble fabricated upholstered parts and install lift mechanisms in lift chairs at floor stations
•Assemble and install mechanisms in lift chairs following specific work instructions
•Inspect mechanisms for bad welds and paint defects
•Follow the Work Instructions and Food & Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines
•Be aware of all Quality requirements
•Identify and report any quality issues and documentation errors to supervisor and/or manager (i.e. Bills of Material, Quality documents, Work Instructions)
•Test functionality of the mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications
•Adhere to the calibration schedule for all tools used by the team
•Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
•Attend the Annual C-TPAT Security Training
•Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
•Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
•Assist with organization and cleaning of work area, keeping aisles and walkways clear at all times
•Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary
•Must be a team player, friendly, detail-oriented, and honest
Must have the ability to:
•Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
•Be cross-trained for multiple jobs within assigned work area(s)
•Use a hydraulic lift, small hand tools, small table lifting device and electronic testing equipment
•Lift/Push/Pull 40 lbs*
*Employees will be provided with assistance lifting in excess of 40 lbs (i.e. another employee, or a hoist)
Must have:
•Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
•Good verbal and written communication skills
•Willingness to learn and/or adapt to new work methods
•No experience required
•At least 1 year of experience assembling furniture in a manufacturing environment preferred
•Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred
•High School Diploma or GED
