Strategic Sourcing & Planning Specialist (Finance)

Purpose and Scope of Job:
The position provides integral support for Product Support leadership and guidance to our internal business clients supporting Planning as well as tactical procurement, inventory management, and contract administration services.

Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):

PSG Strategic Sourcing
Analyze material usage expectations for both dependent and independent demands, and establish supply chain strategy that supports the PSG mission and objectives.
Initiate part requisition and place purchase order with approved vendor to ensure timely delivery of components to support PSG requirements.
Evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers that act quickly and respond to requests.
Ensure proper controls within the purchasing system and its interfacing programs.
Record, evaluate, and report on vendor performance consistent with defined PSG criteria.

PSG Production planning
Maintain a variety of schedules, records, and reports pertaining the tracking of materials through the supply chain cycle.
Provide the production area of PSG and partner shops with speed in material supply
Schedule labor and material for all work and efficiently move all work through the facility, and Field Service
Drive activities to increase the speed of the PSG Function, in the shop and field
Apply industry best practices and forecasting/planning experience to all processes
Plan for and apply the strategic logistics needed to fulfill customer expectations for unit pick-up, and deliver

PSG inventory planning and managementMaintain a variety of schedules, records, and reports pertaining the tracking of materials through the production cycle and availability of production resources.
Review the existing inventory levels to identify and propose disposition of Excess/Technically Obsolete products.
Plan future requirements based on quoting levels to ensure best delivery through pro-active shelving of planned material
Plan for material requirements to support customer agreements to ensure guaranteed delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Decisions Sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Four (4) years of experience in inventory management, supply chain planning, material planning, purchasing, or operations experience.
Working knowledge of Contract Administration Best Practices and principles.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access)
Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication, negotiation, and technical skills.
American Production Inventory Certification Society (APICS) certification is preferred.
Working knowledge of logistics software, principals, tactics, and customs procedures
