QA Supervisor and Supplier Quality Engineer (Finance)
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise team while also working hands on in the lab; supervisory tasks include scheduling shift coverage, reviewing technician performance and developing their skills.
• Write detailed technical reports and lead cross-functional teams including technical and non-technical resources to address problems using a 5Y or 8D type format and other analytical techniques.
• Promote continuous improvement of the processes, maintain high quality lab standards, make product quality decisions and communicate information to a wide range of production, QA and technical associates.
• Quickly grasp new technology and supplier processes; and participate in raw material investigations, supplier audit planning and follow through to corrective/preventive actions at supplier locations.
• Manage the Supplier Corrective Action Incident Report database; initiate and follow-up on action plans for suppliers to close existing gaps to meet PPG Automotive Quality requirements.
• Interpret and analyze data collected from Gas Chromatographs, IR and UV Spectrophotometers, acid-base titrations, Karl-Fisher testing of raw materials finished goods.
Qualifications:
• B.S./B.A. in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or comparable technical degree required.
• Experience leading and mentoring a team as well as direct experience in an analytical chemistry testing lab in a corporate or university research setting required.
• IATF16949 internal auditor training desirable.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. safely.
