Senior Database Administrator (Finance)
Pitney Bowes Inc. has an opening for a Senior Database Administrator in Shelton, CT.
Perform daily Database Administration tasks including monitoring, troubleshooting, and remediation activities. Perform Database Migration from Legacy version to latest version (side by side). Plan and implement ongoing monthly and quarterly maintenance activities including patching cycles, upgrade cycles, security and auditing cycles. Provide innovative leadership for ongoing daily and monthly activities including database maintenance, performance tuning, code tuning. Maintaining and contributing to internal team-knowledge documents/runbooks. Communicate clearly in coordinating with IT teams to fix issues, perform builds, deployments. Perform database refreshes with and EMC NetworkerData Domain technologies. Ability to work in a in a global team, interacting/coordinating with colleagues across the world to ensure highest levels of service. Must be willing to assume on-call support as needed on off business hours and weekends. Mentor junior level DBA's on operational activities, administration, performance tuning issues.
Qualifications
Must possess at least a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and at least 5 years of prior progressive work experience in database administration. Must also possess the following: at least 5 years of experience with MSSQL 2005, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012; at least 5 years of experience in administering MSSQL clustering, replication, logshipping, mirroring, online/offline reorg/re-indexing; at least 5 years of experience with database server patching/hotfix applies; at least 5 years of SQL mail experience, including setting up and scripting alerts; at least 3 years of experience with performance tuning both instance and SQL statement level tuning; at least 3 years of experience with very large warehouse databases; at least 3 years of experience with side by side migration approach of databases; at least 3 years of experience using backup/recovery tools; at least 1 year of MONGO/MYSQL experience with basic database administration tasks; and at least 1 year of experience with MSSQL 2014 & 2016; and at least 1 year of experience setting up Always on Availability Group.
