CV Assistant Controller (Senior Manager level)- Open to US Remote (Finance)
Preference is for position to be based onsite in Minneapolis but open to US remote which would include up to 25% travel to Minneapolis.
This role serves as a member of the Cardiovascular Portfolio Controller team, which is responsible for systems, processes, and procedures associated with closing the books and supporting the control environment.
This position will report directly to the Cardiovascular Portfolio Controller and be an integral member of the Controller's staff. This position will provide leadership and expertise in accounting and finance activities for complex matters, including revenue recognition, accounting reserves, and various other technical accounting topics. Building relationships at all levels of the organization and effectively communicating complicated concepts in an easy-to-understand manner to drive business strategies, will be critical to success in this role.

A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
• Provide accounting thought leadership in preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statement reviews
• Participate and represent Cardiovascular as a key member of the Working Group sub-committees of Controller Leadership Team (CLT)
• Assist in advancing Medtronic's operating model by helping to define roles and responsibilities across the Portfolios, Regions, and Operations
• Manage performance, coach, develop and direct work of three to four staff
• Maintain and / or oversee the control of accounts and records in the areas of revenues, expenses, disbursements, and other associated balance sheet accounts
• Responsible for driving adherence to and communication of accounting policies and procedures and internal controls, including training and influence of business practices to comply
• Responsible for driving efficiency through standardized accounting treatment and policies across the Portfolio while maintaining control environment
• Manage financial analysis and decision support on technical accounting matters, including complex business transactions and implementation of new accounting standards
• Provide proactive business partnering with operating units to establish accounting treatment for new and current business models and business alternatives, helping to drive business strategies with optimal financial statement impacts
• Provide Cardiovascular Portfolio-level support to internal and external audit, corporate accounting, and tax departments
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (Or Advanced Degree with 5+ years) plus 5+ years of leadership experience
